Insights about code reviews and software development in the age of artificial intelligence
It seems like everyone is building an AI code review tool these days, each promising to revolutionize how we write and manage code. But after trying nearly every AI code reviewer on the market, and building one of our own, we’ve come to one undeniable conclusion - AI sucks at code reviews.
After a year of dedicated development and invaluable feedback from our community, GitContext has evolved into CodePeer. Earlier this year, we embarked on an exciting journey to explore how AI could enhance the code review process.
Over the past month, we've been hard at work enhancing our platform to make your code review process as smooth and engaging as possible. We’re thrilled to roll out some fantastic updates that are sure to enrich your experience and boost your productivity.
At CodePeer, we’re driven by a single, unyielding mission: to optimize your code review process to be as efficient and seamless as possible. That's why we're thrilled to share some exciting updates that have rolled out over the past month, each designed to help you review code faster, easier, and with more joy than ever before.
At CodePeer, our commitment to enhancing your code review experience drives us to innovate continuously. This past month, we've rolled out some exciting new features designed to streamline your workflow, bolster security, and integrate seamlessly with your development tools. Here's everything you need to know about the latest updates.
A month ago I was fixing a hairy section of reactive code in our Svelte application, and the thought crossed my mind to refactor the code in tandem with an upgrade to Svelte 5. If I was going to be cleaning up a tangled mess of store dependencies, why not do so with Svelte 5’s new reactivity paradigm? If we’re eventually upgrading to Svelte 5, it makes sense to do it now, as we refactor a substantial part of our reactive code. With a high probability of trading one set of problems for another, and 25 years of engineering experience reminding me it’s a terrible idea to be a forerunner on preview software, I decided to yolo a svelte@next install and get to work. What could possibly go wrong?
After almost a year of laboring away, we're thrilled to be launching GitContext in private alpha! GitContext is reinventing the code review process for modern software development teams. It’s early and we’re just getting started, but we believe we’re on the cusp of building something special.
